The Esteem Competition Team is designed for the dedicated dancer. We look for dancers who are enthusiastic in advancing their skills, bonding with teammates, learning sportsmanship and building excellent athleticism in a positive and supportive environment! We also have a fantastic group of parents, we are not the studio for you if you like dance drama:) We leave the drama to our musical theater performances!
We take it upon ourselves to nurture the talent that walks through our doors, and are dedicated to each of our dancers on a personal level. We regulate our class and team sizes to allow for student-centered learning, which in turn accelerates their skills.
Our competition dancers attend 1-2 conventions during the season and attend 3-4 regional competitions January-May. We attend nationals annually every June in Wisconsin Dells.

WHAT THE SEASON LOOKS LIKE:
Dual Team Training Program
(High School Dance Team + Dance Esteem Company)
This program is designed specifically for dedicated dancers who are committed to representing their high school dance team while also continuing their growth as a member of a Dance Esteem Company team.
We understand the demands of high school dance team season — and we have intentionally structured this program to support dancers who want to do both at a high level.
September and October (Pre–Dance Team Season)
Teams will meet once per week to begin training, conditioning, and choreography preparation.
October 26th – February 20th (High School Dance Team Season)
Once the official dance team season begins, practices will shift to a reduced schedule of 1–2 Sundays per month. This structure allows dancers to stay connected, continue progressing, and maintain technique without overwhelming their in-season commitments.
Post–February 20th (After Dance Team Season Concludes)
Once high school season wraps, teams will return to their weekly scheduled practices as we fully transition back into company training and performance focus.
This is for driven dancers who are ready to manage their time, stay disciplined, and continue elevating their training year-round. Being part of both programs requires commitment, maturity, and strong work ethic — and this structure is built to help dancers thrive in both arenas.
If you are serious about staying sharp, staying connected, and continuing to grow while representing your school, this program is for you.

Auditions are required.
Our team competes at many different age groups and levels in both regional and national competitions. We compete in a variety of styles of dance including:
Dancers will learn a routine and a short skill combo over our four week clinics to audition in small groups or alone the week of auditions. We like to get to know our dancers over this time to help place them on the team that will fit them best.
You will receive an email the weekend following auditions. Then after auditions you will receive info on what the entire year looks like. You will receive options for what teams you can be a part of and the schedule. You will then decide if it seems like a fit for your family.
Prior to auditions there is no need to register for recreational classes unless you plan to take extra classes to supplement your training. We have many dancers/tumblers that do both our recreational and competition programs. If you do not make a team we will make sure you have a spot in our recreation program even if the class is listed as full in our online portal. We do our best to find a perfect fit to set all of our students up for success.
Typically the comp teams practice 2 times a week for roughly 1.5-2 hours a time. This number can be more used on how many styles your dancer will compete with. We compete in the spring 3-4 times and attend Nationals in June.
We have comp teams at all levels. Competition teams are based on ability and ages that range together appropriately. We try to find a team for everyone. Very rarely would a dancer not make any team, unless we feel our program is not a good fit at the time for them. We try to set all dancers and tumblers up for success.
We attend 3-4 regional competitions Mid February thru May and nationals in June at the Kalahari in WI Dells.
Yes, each competition company charges an entrance fee for each dancer per dance. These range depending on if you’re doing a solo to a group dance.
Yes, costumes are required for each style of dance competed.
We are looking for dancers who like to work as a team, perform, want to grow as a person as well as a dancer and of course like to have fun! Our competition program at Esteem focuses on making students great people and the best dancer they can be. We take pride in how we represent ourselves both in and outside the studio in our community. We love seeing our dancers make life long friends. Dance friendships are unmeasurable, your teammates are like minded people just like you all with the same goals to improve and have fun weekly. Our teams range from ages 4-18 years old.
